While the goal of the auditions are to select students to receive scholarships to the 2011 Summer Theater and Dance Camp, we want the audition experience to be positive for all participants. Whether your child is an experienced performer or a beginner, every participant will be treated fairly and impartially. The audition process will be consistent for everyone.
Auditions will take place throughout the time scheduled. Those auditioning should plan on a 1-2 hour time frame, with time spent in several stations including dance, vocal, theater and interview. Participants should wear rehearsal clothing or comfortable clothing to allow for movement and sneakers or dance shoes.
NO JEANS PLEASE.
Auditions will take place in group and individual settings:
Dance – participants will be taught a routine and asked to perform as a group.
Vocal – participants will be asked to repeat a vocal pattern, and given the opportunity to sing a song of their choice.
Theater – participants can bring a monologue if they have one; they will also be given a part to act as part of a skit.
Interview – participants will be asked a series of 5-7 questions that reflect their personality and interest in the arts.
Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is authorized to complete and sign the Information Form.
Upon arrival, participants must sign in, complete an information sheet, be assigned an audition number and wait to be called for their audition.
